1. Who we are

Sow Now ("we", "us") operates the sow-now.uk website and app.sow-now.uk dashboard. We are the data controller for personal data collected through these services.

2. What data we collect

• Email address — used for sign-in (magic link) and account management.
• Postcode prefix (e.g. "SW4") — used to determine your UK climate zone for growing advice. We never store your full postcode or address.
• Sensor readings — temperature, humidity, wind, rain, soil moisture from your hardware. This data is tied to your account and never shared.
• Crop records — crop names, sow dates, bed names you enter in the app.
• Device metadata — hub firmware version, last-seen timestamp, sensor battery levels.

We do not collect: full name, address, payment card details (handled by Stripe directly), or precise GPS location.

3. How we use your data

• To provide the Sow Now growing advice service
• To calculate Growing Degree Days and generate your daily advice
• To send push notifications and email alerts you have opted into
• To send your magic link sign-in email
• To improve the service using aggregated, anonymised analytics

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

• Cloudflare — infrastructure provider (Workers, D1, Pages). Data processed under Cloudflare's DPA.
• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles card data directly and we receive only subscription status.

5. Data retention

• Sensor readings: retained for the duration of your subscription + 12 months after cancellation.
• Account data: deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
• On the hub: a 30-day rolling local buffer is stored on the device's SD card.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@sow-now.uk. You can also delete your account and all data directly from the app settings at any time.

7. Cookies

The app uses localStorage for your session token only. The marketing site (sow-now.uk) uses no tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

8. Changes to this policy

We will notify you by email of any material changes to this policy before they take effect.
